Reading The Girl on the Train - Paula Hawkins right now, pretty good ala the Gone Girl genre.

The Book of Bright Ideas - Sandra Kring, the Night Circus - Erin Morgenstern, Patty Jane's House of Curl - Lorna Landvik, mostly anything by Carl Hiaason, Bentley Little.

Last night I finished reading the English version of the Qur'an. It is not surprising to me where the thought process of radicals comes from. Yuck. Read with caution.

I just finished a very good book -- Annihilation, which is the first book in the Southern Reach Trilogy. I'm not sure whether to call it fantasy, horror, science fiction or what, but the feel of the book is genuinely creepy, with maybe a little hint of Lovecraft. It involves an expedition to a southern part of the US which, for reasons that renain vague, got cut off thirty years previously. Various bad stuff has happened to the twelve (official) expeditions that have gone to investigate the area. Mostly, they disappear without a trace. Or do they?

At 139 pages for $8.99, this ebook is kind of pricey, but I'm definitely buying the next two.

If I owned a library in our home for every book you all read it would be two floors high and have a fireplace and a reading area
